Why exact sizes matter
Platforms accept a range of files, but they display a specific frame. A file at the wrong ratio gets cropped to fit, and the crop is decided by the platform rather than by you, which is how a product ends up cut in half or a headline loses its first word. Resolution matters too. A file below the recommended size is upscaled and looks soft; one far above it is compressed hard on upload. Building at the listed size gives the platform the least to change.
